Orange 90 degree gusset mounted on the Push Back small bot frame

I designed a custom 90 degree gusset to tie together frame members on the Push Back small bot. The bracket braces one side of the robot while also serving as a motor mount.

1. Process

I started with a flat bracket that could connect the frame members and hold the motor mount in place. I then cut pockets into the profile to remove material while leaving a continuous structure around the mounting points.

2. Final Design

The finished robot uses the orange gusset as a visible brace along the side of the frame. Its cutouts keep the bracket open while the solid edges and mounting points connect it back to the surrounding structure.
