Pushback Hood

This is a hood plate I designed for a VEX V5 robot built for the Push Back season. I exported the CAD file into Illustrator and cleaned up the shape there. The file has mounting holes along the edges and pocketing through the middle that removes material and keeps the part light. The center of the pocketing came out less stiff than the rest of the plate, which actually helped the balls when scoring. On the robot it mounts as part of the scoring mechanism, wrapping over the top of the ball path.
